Jewish Family Services has been serving the Jewish community continuously since 1867. The Agency has maintained its original commitment to nurture and strengthen Jewish family life. Originally organized as the Hebrew Relief Society, the Agency has had five different names -- each reflecting the changing needs and challenges of the time.

The pages in the menu at left present a historical profile of who we are and where we came from. Each page describes a unique era in our history. This history is not only an account of important milestones, but a tribute to the hard work and vision of those who came before us.
