Community

Jewish Family Services is an active participant in many community based events and programs, as well as serving as a resource for other organizations.

CHAI, the Jewish coalition on domestic violence, is a vital program of Jewish Family Services. CHAI provides a variety of help services for victims of domestic abuse within the Jewish community.

JFS volunteers assist the Jewish Chaplaincy Program in providing for eight holiday celebrations over the course of the year at area synagogues for exceptional needs individuals and older adults who are living in non-Jewish nursing homes or group homes.  Through an employee of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the Jewish Chaplaincy has a cooperative relationship with JFS.  The Chaplaincy is also a partner of the Kosher Mobile Meals Program.

Services consist of family life education programs and consultation to agencies whereby JFS staff provide consultation to various Jewish communal agencies and educational institutions.
