Jewish Community Mental Health Education Project

The Jewish Community Mental Health Education Project is a collaborative project of the Greater Milwaukee Jewish Community, coordinated by Jewish Family Services. The coalition supporting the project includes 36 Jewish agencies, schools, synagogues, and organizations, and three community partners. (click to see a list of members)

The Jewish Community Mental Health Education Project was established in 2004 and has the following goals:

  • Increase awareness of mental health concerns and decrease stigma in the Jewish community.
  • Provide resources and educational programming for Jewish schools, agencies, organizations, and synagogues to assist them as they interact with families and individuals dealing with mental health concerns.
  • Help to reduce the isolation of Jewish individuals and families dealing with mental illness by creating a caring community.

Project activities are directed by a planning committee with representation from coalition members and the community.
