Jewish Family Services Infant Bonding Program & Mequon Jewish Preschool Present Baby UniversityApril 9, 2008
Jewish Family Services’ (JFS) Infant Bonding Program and Mequon Jewish Preschool are pleased to present “Baby University”, a program designed to provide the latest information about promoting optimal emotional, cognitive and physical development for infants. Classes include information on infant massage, movement, brain development, and relaxation activities for moms. The series will be held on Tuesdays, May 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th, from 9:15-10:15 a.m. at Mequon Jewish Preschool, 11112 N. Crown Court in Mequon, and will be facilitated by a variety of experts in areas including nursing, occupational therapy, and early childcare. The cost is $10 per session or $28 for all four sessions and is offered to moms with children ages newborn to twelve months. Baby University is a collaboration of JFS’ Infant Bonding program and Mequon Jewish Preschool. The Infant Bonding Program is funded through a grant from the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and the generosity of the Leila & Mel Goldin Family. Deborah Lev-Er, Infant Bonding Program Coordinator at JFS states, “Early experiences can build strong foundations or fragile ones. They can affect the way children react and respond to people and the world around them for the rest of their lives. This program teaches techniques that will help mothers interact with their children to help them properly develop cognitively, emotionally and physically.” For more information or to RSVP for Baby University, please contact Rivkie Spalter at 262-242-5437 (KIDS). Since 1867, Jewish Family Services has provided comprehensive social services to the Milwaukee area Jewish and general community. In 2008 JFS was recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in Southeastern Wisconsin by Milwaukee Magazine and The Management Association. Its mission is to provide supportive services that strengthen families, children and individuals throughout the life cycle within the context of their unique needs and traditions. |
