Jewish Family Services Announces Judith Strauss Appointed a Commissioner on AgingNovember 27, 2007
Jewish Family Services, Inc. (JFS) is pleased to announce that their Acting Vice President of Clinical and Counseling Services, Ms. Judith Strauss, has been appointed a commissioner on aging for the Aging Commission of Milwaukee County, whose members are responsible for developing and implementing a coordinated human service system of community-based services for Milwaukee County residents aged 60 and older. The appointment was unanimously confirmed by the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors on November 1, 2007, with term expiring January 31, 2011. Judy has worked in the mental health field for over 30 years. Twenty-seven of those years have been with Jewish Family Services. Sylvan Leabman, President and CEO of JFS, stated that “Judy has been such an integral part of our agency for many years. Her dedication to providing the best quality of care has consistently brought recognition to JFS as a provider of premier mental health and social services.” For 140 years, Jewish Family Services has provided comprehensive social services to the Milwaukee area Jewish and general community. Its mission is to provide supportive services that strengthen families, children and individuals throughout the life cycle within the context of their unique needs and traditions.
