Jewish Family Services' Pathways to Healing Program Presents 'The Power of Hope' Panel DiscussionApril 10, 2008
Jewish Family Services (JFS) is pleased to announce their upcoming panel discussion, “The Power of Hope” about the quality of hope when illness strikes. Some of the panel members include: Rebbetzin Feigie Twerski, internationally known author and lecturer, and husband, Rabbi Michel Twerski, spiritual leader of Congregation Beth Jehudah; Michael Luber, PsyD, psychologist and Program Coordinator for the Pathways to Healing program at Jewish Family Services; Deborah S. Hacker A.P.N.P. of Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin; Rev. Doctor Marcia Marino of the United Unitarian and Universalist Society in Mukwonago; and Rev. Gwen Gillespie of the North Shore Center for Spiritual Living. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 6th from 7-8:30 p.m. at Gilda’s Club, 4050 N. Oakland Avenue in Milwaukee. The event is free and open to the entire community. “The Power of Hope” is co-sponsored by Gilda’s Club and Pathways to Healing, a program of Jewish Family Services, which supports individuals through times of illness or crisis and encourages wellness by addressing issues of mind, body, and spirit. Michael Luber, PsyD of JFS says, “Hope can be a life force in and of itself. If you are dealing with a serious illness, you may often feel exhausted, overwhelmed by everyday problems or ready to give up. Hope for a good quality of life can give you the strength to carry on.” For more information about this event please call Michael Luber at 414-390-5800 or email mluber@jfsmilw.org. Since 1867, Jewish Family Services has provided comprehensive social services to the Milwaukee area Jewish and general community. In 2008 JFS was recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in Southeastern Wisconsin by Milwaukee Magazine and The Management Association. Its mission is to provide supportive services that strengthen families, children and individuals throughout the life cycle within the context of their unique needs and traditions. |
