Homecare
Jewish Family Services’ Homecare program provides supportive homemaking services to clients who need help around their home, need companionship, or require short-term daytime respite for caregivers. JFS offers a wide range of services from basic housekeeping, to running errands, to medication reminders. JFS’ goal for Homecare is to provide quality, reliable service to the greater Milwaukee and North Shore communities.

- Care for Household Plants
- Feed & Water Companion Pets
- Weather Awareness/Reminders
- Monitor Food Expiration
- Help open and read Bills/Mail
- Errands & Transportation
- Review Phone Messages
- Clothing Selection Assistance
- Assistance with packing for a trip
- Packing belongings into boxes for a move, and unpacking boxes after move
- Packing away seasonal items/holiday decorations (no heavy lifting)
- Putting up or hanging seasonal items/holiday decorations (no heavy lifting)
- Vacuuming
- Dusting
- Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
- Laundry services
- Linen changing
- Mopping of floors with upright mop (not on hands and knees)
- Wiping out refrigerator
- Personal care – stand- by assistance only (bathing, dressing, personal hygiene)
- ‘Drop-in’ services to check in and ensure safety – may include a medication reminder
- Light meal preparation
- Short-term, daytime respite (no overnights)

- Play Games/Cards
- Read newspapers or magazines
- Accompany to appointments
- Read stories, books
- Pick up and return library books
