Bradley Crossing Supportive Housing Community
There continues to be a compelling need in the community for affordable housing for people with disabilities or mental illness, a major emphasis of JFS and JFS Housing, Inc. In May 2011, JFS was awarded $9 million in WHEDA Section 42 Tax Credits to construct Bradley Crossing, an apartment building in Brown Deer with half of the 60 units devoted to individuals with physical or developmental disabilities. The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Residences at Bradley Crossing opened in the summer of 2015, adding four new buildings and an additional 54 apartment homes to this tight-knit community. Habush House is a group of apartments located in the North Shore of Milwaukee which provides supportive independent living for developmentally disabled adults. Jewish Family Services provides care management services, including living skills training, advocacy, assistance with medical and dental appointments, money management, social, and religious opportunities. The buildings are owned by the Milwaukee Jewish Federation.
Deerwood Crossing Senior Residences
Deerwood Crossing Senior Residences, a certified Residential Care Apartment Complex (RCAC) in Brown Deer, offers income-eligible seniors both independent and assisted living. This beautifully-designed, affordable community features a high level of amenities and services, including a community dining room, fitness center and social activities. Studio, one and two bedroom residences give seniors the flexibility to age in place. Surlow Senior Apartments provides independent living for low income elderly who are 62 and older. Apartments are spacious and well maintained. Surlow is located within walking distance of shops/restaurants near Oakland and Locust. Surlow presents with a homelike atmosphere with friendly welcoming residents. During the summer months on site management and residents maintain beautiful flower gardens across the property as well as a large vegetable garden for residents to share. Several bird houses are located on the property that attract an array of birds to the neighborhood.
Golda Meir House
Golda Meir House is a subsidized section 8 building for seniors and the disabled, that is located on 1567 N. Prospect Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53202. JFS provides service co-ordination to the residents of the building as well as RN services.
