Governor Tony Evers issued a Certificate of Commendation honoring Jewish Family Services, Inc. On behalf of our clients, residents, and the community we serve, we are grateful for this recognition of our services.

It reads:

“Certificate of Commendation Honoring Jewish Family Services Inc.

WHEREAS; founded in 1867, Jewish Family Services (JFS) Inc. has provided invaluable services throughout Southeastern Wisconsin for more than a century and a half; and

WHEREAS; in its primacy, JFS focused on the needs of European and Russian Jewish refugees and has since grown from addressing the needs of resettled individuals and families to serving the community at large with community-based programs that uplift underserved populations, including older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their families; and

WHEREAS; the leaders, staff, volunteers, and partners of JFS work to dismantle barriers to care and opportunity so that their 2,500 annual clients and program participants can achieve and maintain independence, health, and overall well-being through thoughtful and inclusive programming focused on affordable housing, social services, case management, mental health care, counseling, and more; and

WHEREAS; JFS also offers affordable housing to nearly 360 individuals annually through its subsidiary JFS Housing Inc., and this year marks the 14th anniversary of the Deerwood Crossing Senior Residences and the 12th anniversary of the Bradley Crossing Supportive Housing Community; and
WHEREAS; on this occasion, the state wishes Jewish Family Services Inc. many more years of service and success;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Tony Evers, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, do hereby commend
Jewish Family Services Inc. for its more than a century of tremendous community advocacy,
celebrate the organization upon the milestone anniversaries of its many
impactful program offerings, and thank everyone involved for their
dedicated service to the state.”
