Thanks to a generous gift by the Admirals, JFS Housing residents were treated to a game on November 12, 2025, which was an exciting outing for all!

Community Resource Program head, Shelby Guendel, summarized the benefits to the residents. One in particular, Donald, experienced Admirals Ice Hockey for the first time.

“A 62-year-old resident of Bradley Crossing Supportive Housing recently had a truly memorable experience attending a Milwaukee Admirals School Day game. Despite typically experiencing significant anxiety around children and large crowds, he not only participated but thrived in the energetic, youth-filled environment of the arena.

Throughout the game, he was fully engaged—cheering, joining in on dances, and embracing the excitement of being part of a lively audience. What stood out most was his ability to overcome personal barriers: the noise, the movement, the presence of so many children, and the size of the crowd. Rather than feeling overwhelmed, he felt safe, included, and genuinely joyful.

This outing represented far more than entertainment; it demonstrated how positive, community-centered experiences like Admirals games can support personal growth, confidence, and emotional well-being for individuals in supportive housing. He left the game smiling, energized, and proud of himself—already talking about wanting to return.

We are grateful for the Admirals’ commitment to creating an environment where all fans, regardless of background or challenges, can feel comfortable and uplifted. This one experience had a meaningful impact, and we hope to continue offering opportunities like this for our residents.”
