Jewish Family Services, Inc. hosted the Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Residences at Woodale Crossing Supportive Housing Community
Brown Deer, Wis., July 24, 2025 – Jewish Family Services, Inc. hosted a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Residences at Woodale Crossing Supportive Housing Community, a 56-unit affordable and supportive senior housing residence located in Brown Deer, with 25% of units dedicated to people with a disability who are at risk for housing insecurity, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Residences at Woodale Crossing will provide 56 affordable units for seniors, with 25% of the units reserved for seniors with disabilities who have experienced housing instability. Residents will have access to on-site supportive services including socialization and skill-based programming, social services, and independent living support.
“Affordable housing remains inaccessible to many of my constituents and Americans nationwide. I am thankful to the leaders and partners who made these important investments and helped respond to a critical need in our community. These new residences will give more seniors and people with disabilities in Brown Deer the stability and security of a high-quality, affordable home,” said Rep. Gwen Moore (WI 4).

JFS led the development with support from financial partners and community stakeholders. Partners included FHLBank Chicago’s Affordable Housing Program (AHP,CIBC, the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), National Equity Fund, the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, Otto Bremer Trust, Milwaukee County, Bader Philanthropies, the Stackner Foundation, and others.
“Woodale Crossing was designed to support residents in living independently while having access to services that help them thrive,” said Daniel Fleischman, Interim President and CEO of JFS, and Vice President of Housing and Residential Services. “This community reflects our belief that stability, respect, and access to care should be part of every housing solution.”
When residents are fully moved in, the JFS Campus will provide affordable housing and supportive services for over 425 residents across five housing developments on its campus.
