Aaron has been providing community-based mental health services to children and families in Milwaukee for close to 20 years. He joined Jewish Family Services in 2014, where he provides both outpatient mental health as well as school-based clinical services in a variety of academic settings in the Milwaukee area. Prior to JFS, Aaron was a Child & Family Therapist at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, specializing in trauma counseling with children in the foster care system. Mr. Heffernan is a Level One Practitioner of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. His modalities are evidenced-based, client-centered approaches which tap into the client’s own innate capacities for healing and transformation.
