A message from the Advocacy Committee of Jewish Family Services

We know the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade is weighing heavily on many of our minds no matter how each of us may personally feel about abortion.

Making abortion illegal will most certainly exacerbate the growing mental health crisis, as girls and women who are denied abortions frequently experience higher rates of depression, anxiety and lower self-esteem.  JFS works each day to uphold and protect the social work value of the right to self-determination and ensuring those we serve have access to the care they need.  We remain committed to Tikkun Olam, or repairing the world, as we support girls, women and their families in all communities, and from all religious and ethnic backgrounds.
